Yamuna expressway accident claims 4 lives, 30 injured in India

Monitoring Desk: As many as 25 cars piled up on Yamuna expressway in morning fog at 9 am Indian standard Time on Wednesday, resulting death of four persons including 2 women while 28 are critically injured.

According to eye witnesses foggy conditions and low visibility led to the accidents around 9 am and the injured were taken to Kailash hospital in Greater Noida.

Senior District Magistrate S C Shukla of Jewar district said. that vehicles involved in the pile-up included 25 cars, two tourists buses and a PAC vehicle. Apart from the district hospital in Noida and Kailash hospital in Greater Noida, three other private hospitals in the area have been notified to be on alert for emergencies on the expressway.

Subcontinent gets extreme fog during the months of December to February causing road accidents in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.
