ANKARA: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he is ready to resign if his ruling party fails to win key local elections scheduled for March 30.

“I am ready to quit politics unless my party emerges winner in the elections,” Erdogan said on Wednesday.

Erdogan, whose party is in power since 2002, is battling a damaging corruption investigation that poses the greatest challenge yet to his 11 years in power.
