Colombo, Sri Lanka: The Region Initiative (TRI) and its representing organization in South Asia- Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation (SLEF) wish to express deep condolences to Nepali people over the great tragedy that caused death of over 7,000 people and destruction of properties and infrastructure of their country.
The SLEF and TRI wish and pray that Nepal will rise again and will build a better future by converting this disaster into an opportunity. Palitha Gurusinghe, President of SLEF and Agha Iqrar Haroon, President, The Region Initiative join hands to express their condolence and solidarity to the people of Nepal.
The Region Initiative (TRI) is a Tri-regional Umbrella of Tourism related organisations. TRI is functioning as a link among three regions—-South Asia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. It offers blended tours packages, consultancy, networking of tourism organisations, tourism research opportunities, marketing of small tourism stakeholders, promotion of need of usage of renewable energies, advocate sustainable tourism and ecotourism. We are proud Associate Member of International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP). TRI also collaborates with Sustainable Travel International (STI) for the ecotourism development.
