Top Pakistani anchor arrested for forgery in UAE

Dubai, UAE: Pakistan Foreign office spokesman confirmed that Dunya television anchor Moeed Pirzada is under arrest in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Foreign Office confirmed that he was arrested in Abu Dhabi on August 4. He is known for his arrival through Pakistani establishment.

He worked for Express News, Waqt News, state run PTV News.Pirzada started his career on Tv from Geo English but switched to Express TV when Geo English did not come on air.

He is also an Executive Director of Governance & Policy Advisors (GAPA) that provides consultancy services to the government institutions and establishment of Pakistan.

Media circles in Islamabad are confident that he would be released soon if he is really involved in any forgery case because he is very important personality for certain institutions within country (Pakistan).

“Our embassy in the UAE is in contact with authorities over there and will provide all possible assistance to Pirzada,” FO spokesperson added.

Sources in Foreign Office indicated that Pakistani government is trying to resolve issue between UAE police, Pirzada family and him to ensure his release without further delay.
