Seven tips how to develop tourism in Armenia come from US Ambassador in Armenia

YEREVAN. – U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern shared tips on developing tourism in Armenia after his visit to Armenia’s regions, reports News Armenia. He tweeted seven lessons learned from recent trip Syunik and Vayat Dzor.

Heffern said great people in Armenia do amazing things and noted crowd funding potential for small productive projects which should be used more in the country.

He drew attention to archeological tourism, saying it “has super potential in Armenia”, as there areseveral world class sites for tourists and students.

Another good opportunity for developing tourism is Black Sea Virtual Silk Road project and B+Bs which offer interesting alternative overnight stays e.g., real home cooked meals.

“Some sites are tremendously interesting, but need more info brochures to explain their significance,” he tweeted.

Finally, lots of variety out there: churches, nature, horse riding, farms, caves, winery, bee farm, cable car, bridges and birds.
