The news of her death was reportedly announced after getting permission from news agency office in United States.

According to a Pakistan Institute for Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital spokesman, the body of Maria Golovinina did not bear any torture marks. Her body will be sent for a post mortem and police will conduct an investigation into the death.
