Putin calls for closer cooperation between Russia, Pakistan

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for closer cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in combating terrorism and the illegal drug trade, adding that both sides have plans for major joint projects in the energy and metal industries, Dispatch News Desk reported.

During a ceremony to receive the credentials of new Pakistani ambassador to Russia in Moscow, Putin stressed Russia’s desire to not only promote political dialogue with Pakistan but also enhancing economic coordination.

Putin said Russia and its neighbours in Asia had plans for projects in the energy and metal industries.
