Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif visiting Astana on August 25

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif is visiting Astana from August 25, reports Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency.

According to the Foreign Office Pakistan, Sharif will lead a high-level delegation during his visit to Kazakhstan. He will embark on two-day visit to Kazakhstan from Tuesday. 

 

In a statement issued, the Foreign Office said that Nawaz Sharif will hold meetings with the Kazakhstan’s president and Prime Minister Karim Massimov during his stay in Astana.

The statement said that a number of agreements and memorandum of understandings (MoUs) are expected to be signed between Pakistan and Kazakhstan during the visit.

The leaders of both the countries will discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

“The Prime Minister’s visit to Kazakhstan is reflective of his vision to enhance and strengthen Pakistan’s relations with Central Asian Republics,” the statement said.

It said that the two countries share common views on major regional and international issues and cooperate closely in multilateral forums including the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

“The relations between the two regional countries are based on mutual respect, shared perceptions and common desire to promote peace, stability and development in the region,” the statement added.
