Parachinar suicide attack kills 31 Shias

PARACHINAR: Atleast thirty one people were killed and over 40 others were injured in a suicide attack in a crowded market outside a mosque in Parachinar city, the headquarters of Kurram Agency told Dispatch News Desk (DND) on Friday.

A suicide bomber detonated his explosive-filled jacket when worshippers had come out of a mosque and were standing in a market, security officials told.

The local people said two people were killed when security forces shot at protesters from the Shia community after the bombing.

A splinter group led by Fazal Saeed Haqqani that recently broke away from the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that the “Toori (Shia) tribe were involved in activities against us”.
