Pakistan strongly condemns US drone strike in North Waziristan

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Thursday strongly condemned the latest US drone strike that took place in Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal agency bordering Afghanistan last night, Dispatch News Desk reported.

A US drone strike killed at least 4 suspected militants when it fired two missiles on a house in Qutab Khel village, five kilometres (three miles) south of Miranshah town of North Waziristan Agency last night.

In the weekly briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, the Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam demanded an end to drone attacks, describing them in violation of the international laws.

In reply to a question, the spokesperson said that Pakistan welcomes the statement of the Indian minister for external affairs in which he stated problems between the two countries can be resolved through dialogue.

To another question‚ the spokesperson said that that nuclear cooperation between Pakistan and China is for peaceful purposes and in accordance with the laws of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
