Pakistan hopes India will reciprocate to its sincerity

WASHINGTON: The advisor to the prime minter on foreign affairs and national security expressed hope that India will reciprocate to Pakistan’s sincerity by agreeing to start a comprehensive‚ sustained and meaningful dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues including the core issue of Kashmir.

In his address to the Atlantic Council‚ a prestigious US think tank in Washington, the advisor said that economic development‚ internal security and improvement in relations with neighbours‚ especially Afghanistan and India are the main priorities of Pakistan’s vision for regional peace and prosperity.

The advisor reiterated the government’s firm commitment to facilitate Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process to restore peace and stability in that country.

Aziz also highlighted the steps taken by Pakistan that has resulted in improvement of ties with Afghanistan.

The premier’s advisor said that the relations between Pakistan and the United States have seen a lot of improvement in the last seven months. He said that the revived Strategic Dialogue Process provides the best framework to move forward towards a broad based and comprehensive

Moreover, he said that that a comprehensive counter-terrorism policy will be announced soon by the government.
