After his released, he sent several twitter messages claiming that he was in jail with several terrorists of Islamic State and stated that his days in Saudi Arabian jails have given him an incredible insight into the security dynamics building in the Middle East.

Sources in Islamabad claim that Pakistani security agencies and foreign office officials played key in his release but Zaid Hamid said he had not received any support from Pakistan and his release was due to investigation of Saudi government that found him innocent.

His first open statement indicates close relations of Indian Intelligence agency RAW and Saudi Arabian intelligence services and their joint operations in the Middle East region. He claimed RAW painted him as an Iranian spy therefore he was arrested by Saudi authorities.

Zaid is known for his outspoken and controversial statements and he wants an Islam rule of law in Pakistan. He is also known for his relations with military leadership but such relations have always been denied by military circles.
