Lahore suicide attack on Police headquarters killed 12 persons

Monitoring Desk: Suicide attack at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh Lahore Pakistan caused 12 dead while several injured are moving to Mayo Hospital, reports Dispatch News Desk news agency.

According to news agency, it was a suicide blast and bomber was stopped by Police and he detonated himself. More reports are coming from our report. Dispatch News Desk news agency reporter present in Mayo Hospital said that at least 4 injured persons are in critical condition.

Intelligence sources of Punjab believe that attack has been initiated by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

As may as 31 people have been shifted in Mayo hospital and rescue operation is underway. Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines Lahore is always an important target of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) because a number of important TTP terrorists had been investigated here in this one century old Police Lines.

Eyewitness said to Dispatch News Desk news agency that police constable stopped a person who looked like a Pathan to parked his motorcycle and then there was a blast. “I can not say bomb was planted in motorcycle or it was a suicide bomber but I remember policeman stopped this man who was coming out of parking after parking his motorcycle or cycle”, said Muhammad Sharif who was also injured and shifted to Mayo Hospital.

DIG Operations while talking to media said:

“It looked like a suicide attack and we had information that Lines is under threat therefore we increased its security some days back”.

Over 2 dozen cars, 50 bikes and 8 shops destroyed in blast that killed at least 12 persons mostly policemen.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack calling it cowardliness of senseless terrorists.

Intelligence sources in Islamabad indicate that TTP can strike at more places in Lahore this week.
