Khabar Kay Sath Sath: Confrontational politics can harm Pakistan again

Confrontational politics can harm Pakistan again

Islamabad, Pakistan: Development of any country is ensured by political stability, peace and continuity of policies. Confrontational politics does harm countries not internally rather externally because capital cash flies out and investments do not come in. Pakistan is going through a sensitive phase of its history where it is coming out of clutches of terrorism due to successful operation against terrorists under the banner of Zarb-e-Azb and international investors are looking forward towards Pakistan and politics of confrontation can strongly harm Pakistan again.

China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a game changer in the region but political instability strongly harm this project as neighbouring countries have initiated a project just to marginalize CPEC project in reference to CPEC link with central Asian states.

These were observation of participants in one of the most popular PTV Current Affairs show “Khabar Kay Sath Sath” hosted and anchored Tariq Mehmood Chaudhary while senior journalists, Rana Qaisar and Agha Iqrar Haroon were present as experts.

Experts said that India will finance to develop another road network inside Afghanistan to facilitate Iran to reach as far as Tajikistan in a shorter way comparing to already operational North-South Corridor that connects Iranian port of Chabahar with Central Asia states via Turkmenistan. This move of India is just to minimize importance of CPEC that has been started to link central Asia with Gwadar port of Pakistan.

Experts added that the decision was taken during the first round of Director General – Joint Secretary level India-Iran-Afghanistan trilateral consultations on Afghanistan that was held in New Delhi on April 27, 2016. The new route will run in Northern Afghanistan in the proximity of Central Asian borders where law and order situation is under control and where Taliban are not strongly present.

Experts added that any political destabilization can harm such important projects like CPEC because central Asian would like to opt a project that is shortest route instead of CPEC where country could go face another political instability soon.

Experts were of the view new route being developed by India will run from Heart-Leman-Bala Murghab—Cormach—Maymaneh—Andkhoy—Karamkal—Shaberghan—Aqchach to Mazar Sharif, providing shortest possible route to land-locked central Asian countries to sea port of Chahahar. It may be mentioned that every country of Central Asia is already connected with Mazar Sharif.

Experts were of the view that the apparent reason for instant Indian investment through India-Iran-Afghanistan trilateral consultations for this new road networking is to offer Iranian Chabahar port as the shortest and safer port to Central Asian states for their international trade comparing to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) that will run through western parts of Afghanistan where civil war is going on since the last 35 years and where Taliban and Daish are strongly present. It may be mentioned that CPEC will enter to Afghanistan from Pakistani Baluchistan. All areas connecting to Pakistan from Afghanistan are facing worst law and order situation due to ongoing war inside Afghanistan and these areas are under the virtual control of Daish and Taliban.

Experts in PTV Current Affairs show “Khabar Kay Sath Sath” were of the view that political parties of Pakistan must think for the country at the juncture of time instead of thinking only for getting power by destabilizing the system and the country because investors would run again from this country like they did in 1999 after elected political government was booted out and martial law was clamped in Pakistan.
