India seizes US ship, detains crew members

CHENNAI: India has seized a US ship and arrested all its 35 crew members on board after they failed to produce the necessary documents required to carry arms and ammunition in Indian waters, Dispatch News Desk reported.

The shop, operated by a US maritime security company, was stopped and being held in the port of Tuticorin along with its 10 crew and 25 armed security guards – who are British, Estonian, Indian and Ukrainian nationals – until required documentation is submitted, said coast guard commandant Anand Kumar.
