CIS is declaring year 2014 as “Tourism Year of Tourism in CIS”

The upcoming meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of CIS countries to be held on August 20, 2013 in Minsk, will finalise the issue of declaring year 2014 as “Tourism Year of Tourism in CIS”.

According to tourism leaders of CIS, the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of States will take place on October 25 in Minsk while Foreign Ministers Council will discuss and approve 20 projects, among which there is also a strategy of cooperation in the sphere of tourism.

The major part of document projects has already been agreed upon by expert groups of member states’ representatives and is in the stage of interstate coordination.

The preliminary agenda of the meeting of Head of States’ Council include 18 issues. The Foreign Ministers Council approved the issue about declaring the 2014 year the Year of Tourism in CIS. The Council of Foreign Ministers will also view a number of issues in the sphere of fighting against terrorism and extremism.
