Chinese parliamentary delegation reaches Islamabad on three-day visit

ISLAMABAD: A Chinese Parliamentary delegation arrived in Islamabad on Thursday on a three-day official visit, Dispatch News Desk reported.

The delegation, headed by Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National Peoples’ Congress Madam Shen Yueyue and comprising other senior members and officials of the Chinese National People’s Congress‚ was received by Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbassi at the Air Marshal Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi.

During its stay‚ the Chinese delegation will hold talks with President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discuss potential of further augmenting bilateral relations in different sectors.

It will also call on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari to further strengthen parliamentary exchanges between the two countries.

Pakistan has always described China as its time-tested and all-weather friend. The relationships between the two neighboring countries are based on strong foundations of trust and mutuality of interests and are also rooted in the ethos of the people of both countries.

That is why, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif undertook his first foreign trip to China in the first week of July after taking the oath of his office.

During the visit, the leadership of the both Pakistan and China vowed to further intensify their five-decade old mutually beneficial relationship, enhance bilateral cooperation and reinforce coordination on international and regional issues.
