China offers Pakistan 3,200 megawatt of electricity

URUMQI, China: Chinese officials have said that they are ready to export 3,200 megawatt of electricity to Pakistan, adding that the project could be completed in three years’ time, Dispatch News Desk reported on Thursday.

The offer was made by the officials during talks with the visiting Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Urumqi, provincial metropolis of Xinjiang province of China.

The CM Punjab welcomed the offer and said it needs to be assessed by the experts to ensure cost effectiveness.

Shahbaz Sharif is a two-day visit to China to discuss cooperation between Pakistan and China in different fields particularly energy sector.
