Belarus and Pakistan go for special economic zones

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan and Belarus go for establishing a special economic zones in both countries for encouraging investments in different industrial sectors, reports Dispatch News Desk (DND) from Islamabad.

The agreement was reached when the two sides held delegation level talks in Islamabad on Tuesday to discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation in trade and economy.

Later, the Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan and the Minister for Industry of Belarus Vitaly M. Vovk also signed the`Roadmap of Bilateral Cooperation: Short and Medium Term’ and agreed to move swiftly on the roadmap.

In his address at the signing ceremony, the Khurram Dastgir said that the commerce ministry will make arrange sector specific activities to enhance the trade between Pakistan and Belarus.

The Belarus industry minister said that his country is appointing a Trade Officer in its Embassy in Islamabad to follow up on the decisions taken in the agreed roadmap.
