Bannu blast on January 19, 2014: Taliban take responsibility

Islamabad: Terik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has taken responsibility of blast that took place in Bannu  cantonment area near Razmak Gate on January 19, 2014 when an army convoy, comprising 25 to 30 vehicles, was preparing to leave the town for Miranshah. 24 soldiers were killed in this blast. The cantonment area was completely cordoned off as media and civilian persons were not allowed in.

Explosive was installed in a private vehicle rented out by Pakistan Army hired by the army personnel for weekly transportation of the army men to North Waziristan’s Miranshah town where military is stationed to maintain law and order situation and curfew is imposed ahead of military movement every week
