98 killed, 101 injured in rain-related incidents across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: At least 98 persons have so far lost their live while 101 others injured in rain-triggered incidents in various parts of Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Friday, Dispatch News Desk reported.

In Punjab, 20 persons have been killed, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 24 persons, in Sindh 22, in Balochistan 16, in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) 12 and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir 14 persons have lost their lives due to rain and flash floods, the authority said in its latest data.

The authority said 2‚482 houses have been damaged partially and 2‚374 completely in the flash flooding. Crops over 147‚028 acres of land have been affected due to floods.

Meanwhile‚ the NDMA has distributed 22‚808 tents among the flood victims‚ including 4‚530 in Balochistan‚ 728 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‚ 8‚800 in Sindh and 8‚750 in Punjab.

It has also distributed 500 blankets among flood victims‚ including 300 in Balochistan and 200 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also dispatched relief items including tents‚ de-watering sets and other essential items to flood-affected areas of the Province.
