20 killed, 44 injured in Philippine road accident

MANILA: At least 20 persons were killed and 44 others injured after a bus rear-ended by a truck lost control on a downhill road and hit two buses and four vans coming from the opposite direction in the Philippines, Dispatch News Desk reported.

The accident occurred in Atimonan, 120 kilometres (75 miles) southeast of Manila, the capital of Philippines.

Police said that many of the victims were pinned down by the truck, which toppled over the road in the incident.
