16 soldiers killed in suicide bombing near Damascus

BEIRUT: At least 16 soldiers were killed when a suicide vehicle bombing occurred at an army checkpoint on the outskirts of Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday, Dispatch News Desk reported.

The explosion that was carried out by rebels led by the Al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat Al-Nusra or Nusra Fron, took place at the entrance of the Christian-Druze neighborhood of Jaramana.

The attack also caused damage to properties in the area.
