15 killed as 6.8 magnitude earthquake jolts parts of Pakistan southwest on September 28, 2013

QUETTA: At least 15 persons were killed and 50 others injured when a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck different parts of Balochistan and Sindh including the country’s largest city of Karachi on Saturday, four days after a devastating earthquake spread havoc in Balochistan as over 650 people were killed, Dispatch News Desk reported.

The epicenter of today’s earthquake was 96 km north-east of Awaran district of Balochistan.

In Sindh, tremors were felt in Karachi, Nawabshah, Larkana, Shahdad Kot, Sukkur, Shikarpur and other adjoining areas. While in Balochistan, tremors were felt in Quetta, Khuzdar, Bolan, Jhal Magsi, Awaran and other areas.

According to reports, many more houses collapsed in Mashkay town of Awaran district following the earthquake.
