ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police foiled another plot to attack former president Pervez Musharraf within two weeks as police recovered four rockets near his residence in the capital on Monday, Dispatch New Desk reported.
According to police officials, four rockets were found lying on greenbelt near former president’s Chak Shahzad farmhouse in Islamabad. Later, the rockets were defused by the bomb disposal squad.
On December 24, minutes before Musharraf’s departure from his house to appear in a special court to face a treason trial under article 6 of the constitution for imposing an emergency in the country on November 3, 2007, a bomb was recovered near his Islamabad residence, and later defused.
The bomb disposal squad had said the explosive material was recovered nearly 1 kilometer from Chak Shehzad farmhouse. It was planted on a possibly route of Musharraf’s convoy.
