Khabar Kay Sath Sath: India is no more a place to live for non Hindus
Islamabad, Pakistan: India has lost its face of being a secular country and now it is a place worth to live only by upper class Hindus.
Low caste Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Muslims have been marginalized by ruling radical Hindus. Human Rights abuses are order of the day in India from Nagaland to Kashmir and from Delhi to Kolkata but the world has kept its eyes on this purge of non-Hindus in India.
Indian mainstream media is singing songs of RSS and journalism in mainstream media is touching lowest level of professionalism while reporting cases of Human Rights abuses in Indian cities.
These were observations of participants of a penal discussion held on Tuesday in popular PTV Current Affairs show “Khabar Kay Sath Sath” hosted and anchored by Naheed Chaudhary. Participants of discussion included senior journalists Tariq Mehmood Chaudhary, Rana Qaisar and Agha Iqrar Haroon.
While discussing statement of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi, in a direct attack on the RSS who said that he would not chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, participants said that India has lost its secular face and ruling Hindu elite is pushing every non Hindu either to leave India or follow strict Hinduism and situation has become alarming even for low caste Hindus like Dalits.
It may be mentioned that addressing a public rally in Udgir tehsil in Latur district here on Sunday, Owaisi said, “I don’t chant that slogan (Bharat Mata Ki Jai). He further said, “Nowhere in the Constitution of India it says that one should say: Bharat Mata ki Jai”. I won’t utter that (slogan) even if you put a knife to my throat,” the AIMIM leader added, amid loud applause by the crowd.
Owaisi’s comments came against the backdrop of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s instructions that the new generation must be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India.
Participants were of the view that western media is totally quite over large scale Human Rights abuses against Christians, low caste Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims while Indian mainstream is standing along with radical Hindus to snub and harass non Hindus. Participants cited many latest cases of abuses against Christians including a recent incident in which a Christian couple was abused and made naked in front of their seven year old child because they were singing their religious song sitting inside their house. Hindu neghbours gathered outside their house and took them out of house and made them naked in front of their child and forced them to leave the place. Local police refused to help Christian couple and media refused to cover the event.
Participants also discussed event in which a Dalit student leader of Ambedkar Students Association Rohith Vemula committed suicide because RSS local leaders were annoyed over the situation that a Dalit would become a Ph.D scholor. His friends and students of university believe that it was a “systematic murder” and an “engineered suicide” because he was so marginalized and compelled by circumstances developed by university administration around him that he might have committed suicide.
