Bukhara, Uzbekistan: A grand Tourism Complex will be built in Bukhara Uzbekistan within the framework of the tourism development program for 2017-2020.
According to Deputy Governor of the Bukhara region on tourism development Botyrzhon Shahrierov, a specialized tourist complex will be constructed far away from historical sites. The construction of the complex is carried out within the framework of the state program for the development of tourism, adopted by the government for 2017-2020.
The area of the tourist complex will be ten hectares. This territory will house an amphitheater, a monument dedicated to the history of Bukhara, hotels, catering facilities, a lake, villas, entertainment facilities and other infrastructure. Foreign investors are involved in the project.
In addition, it is planned to create a center for artisans in the city whose task is to popularize the most famous types of traditional Uzbek crafts: carpet weaving, silver casting, embroidery with silk and gold threads, casting knives from iron. The center will also serve to strengthen the tradition of transferring these crafts from generation to generation, believe in the province’s leadership.
It is worth recalling that the city of Bukhara was founded in the VI century BC. This is the birthplace of Imam Al-Bukhari, known as the author of the most complete assembly of the hadeeth of the Prophet Muhammad. At one time, the outstanding Tatar enlightener Shigabutdin Mardjani lived and studied in Bukhara. The native village of the greatest scientific medicine of Ibn Sina – the village of Aftana is also located on the territory of the modern Bukhara region, just 40 kilometers from the city of Bukhara.
Bukhara is one of the most popular tourist centers in Uzbekistan. In the city there are 120 hotels and hotels, 80 percent of them are of high class. The tourist flow is growing, so the construction of hotels continues, the representatives of the region’s leadership told. New hotels are also being built in the region: 15 such facilities are currently under construction. In the future, these areas will develop pilgrimage tourist destinations.
